University Library

The Library in University of Delaware includes: -

  • Hugh M. Morris Library.
  • The main library.
  • Three branch libraries located in Newark the Agriculture Library, the temporary Chemistry Library), and the Physics Library.
  • Fourth branch library, the Marine Studies Library, in Lewes, Delaware and the Library Annex located in Newark at the University of Delaware Wyoming Road Complex.

The University of Delaware Library has variety of collections that are parallel to the University's academic courseware and widely comprehensive. Books, microforms, periodicals, electronic resources, databases, government publications, maps, media, manuscripts are been available at the University Library . The University Library makes accessible with broad range of electronic library resources. The University Library always updates the technology and provides resources for faculty, students, and staff to provide the most current and convenient information resources.

The University Library subscribes more than 230 licensed databases for the use of students, faculty, and staff. Each database allows thousands of publications searches at once. Some databases are general in nature and some are specific subject-oriented. As well some of the databases also include summaries and some databases are "full text" and include entire articles. And the University Library subscribes up to 7,900 electronic journals covering all disciplines licensed for use of students, faculty, and staff.

The University Library was founded in 1958 the University of Delaware Library Associates worked harder to enrich with the research collections for the content of the University Library though gifts from individuals, funds raised by programs, and donations of significant books.
